My point was that “adult” is defined as an organism that has reached sexual maturity and thus capable of reproduction. Author should have introduced new terminology, not misused the language.
But, in reality, they didn't. They all died within a day of their transformation, so an adult phase Glasswing Illusionary Butterfly was essentially nonexistent. It was the end of life for their caterpillar phase, not a new beginning.
