Author I thought a bit about the problem with 'Yan Devil' and 'Olivia Temple' and I have the idea that , in original, they wanted to pass the idea that 'Yan Devil' was using 'hosts'. so killing his mortal flesh would not kill him and every member of the 'Olivia Temple' is either contracted or prepared to be possessed by him(?). That would explain how they would be one and the same

And here, my friend, you're utterly wrong. If you read again my comment it says 'Chinese MC' or 'Chinese Main Character'. It's implications are significantly leaning torwards a genre. Our protagonist , even 'redacted' by the translator, embody most of the main and common trope of a cultivation Chinese MC that ate popularised. Hence my comment. It really just lack the, probably omitted in translation, fierce nationalism and accompanying racism. What happened here is a possessiveness and pettiness bordering the pathological. Still, in a sense, all of this is still tame. even though I'm certain it is because MC is still weak. Anyway , no. Usually you don't deny your new girlfriend to interact with her long time friend because they want a pigiama party and your h*rny. Especially not without even trying to come to an understanding with the other person.

I think the point is exactly that. If he 'humanise' a slime this much, it could be more gradual and impactful in changing to state of mind of 'doing what necessary' with time. if he chalked everything up with 'just monsters' once he would need to kill something more humanoid or a human , he simply would either not or break down
