This begs the questions if absorbing the soul of the basilisk gave him the ability to speak with snake-kin, then wouldn't he be able to do the same with other species of animals if he did the same?

I was reminded of Voldemort's resurrection ritual. He used his father's bone, his enemy's blood, and his servant's flesh. His father was a Muggle. what armor are they wearing?

The arrow was out of Arc's reach, and Arc could only try using his sword then to parry it. When Arc tried, he was not able to redirect it in a different direction. And the arrow penetrated his chest.

You know what I'm game, go whichever direction you want with the story. If I were to say anything about the story so far id say that the MC needs more dialogue with others. Other than that you've got a nice little story set up.
