I've been noticing it for awhile but Brain is showing signs of being a clinical Psychopath. This chapter just proves it as Psychopaths have a hard time feeling emotions and often express the "emptiness" Brain feels. Plus his unusual joy in killing the man from before without some much as a hint of guilt. Even with his first kill, he was cradling himself from the sheer excitement of the kill more so than the act of shame.
Which was kinda ironic.
