Isn’t Mercury a Roman god, not a Greek one? I think the Greek version is actually Hermes! As far as I’m aware all the planets in the Solar System were named after Roman gods, with the exception of Uranus, who is Greek, and Earth of course :)

It could be the metal meaning he was flexible and malleable though dangerous. It could mean the greek god showing he was fast and mischievous. It could mean the planet, too, showing that he was a force to be reckoned with. It was a big name that he would first have to grow into, but he liked it. He nodded. I would guess (if we’re looking for plausibility on this fantasy novel haha) that maybe the squid purposefully left the ice around the bait weak? It’s going to get broken anyway so it’ll save on resources, plus it’s easier to break through (since it’s clearly having a little trouble with the rest of the ice) Just my reasoning, though, so might not be correct :)
That was because the octopus had used its ice powers to increase the hardness of the ice.

After seeing these Acheron Gang members, Marvin was shocked and doubtful, but never lost his calm. That would be a joke. As a former Ruler of the Night, his battle experience was extremely rich. These pieces of trash were barely good enough to be considered adventurers. Although the Thief's strength was higher than Marvin's own value, sometimes experience was much more important.

How about ’Dusk’? I was juggling between ’Midnight’ and this one but I felt like Midnight may be a little bit too edgy…. though it might also work. I just think Dusk fits since he used to be the Herald of Light. Dawn would fit with his old persona, but now that he’s here again and not aiming for the light side so much anymore, what with him trying to become a pumpkinmancer and all and Dusk being the opposite of Dawn. But that’s just what I think :)
