The king probably doesn't want to lose the land since it gives the kingdom economic benefits. And I don't really think he's "siding" with the Duke since he hates him. It's just political decision. We care about Maxi because she the main character, but here there's no reason for another character lose territories, and have to engage in another dispute for the land just because of her. It would cause a lot of probable just to aplacate Rifie's anger and they are not up to it hahahah

I see so many comments about the King's involvement. OF COURSE he would get involved. It is his kingdom, it's expected not to tolerate this kinda of behavior mainly because they have a treaty of peace inside the kingdom. if he allows rebellious actions the nobles will probably lose their respect and it could lead to him not being the king anymore hahahahahah. Agnes deserves respect, YES! She did nothing wrong. It's not fair to compare Maxi's abuse to her since they have totally different stories. And again, Maxi said LOUD AND CLEAR that she wanted to got with the Duke, what di you guys expected Agnes to do? Tie her down? It was a delicate situation, it is expected to not know how to act and let's not forget that back then everyone thought he was a caring father so why would they object? (besides the knights that hated him even before)

All I can remember about Riftan at this moment is Maxi saying something like "when he's calm is worse" because usually when he screams and shouts it's just his anger venting. I feel like he's understanding the situation and thinking about coldly what he's going to do with the Duke

I agree! But even though I agree with I don't really think it would make any difference. This girls got trust issues, low self esteem... Even if he had told her, she would be devasted and the thought about not being able to bear other children would still creeping in and her father comments would be there to fuel them all. So she would end up here anyway

I’m a bit tired of these types of discussions, ngl. Marriage is not something you do it alone. Instead of just defying him all the time it would be better to decide things together and meet halfway. I believe that is the true problem of Riftan and Maxi, during the discussion he did have a point. No matter what his opinion was, Maxi ALWAYS did what she wanted and he budged every single time. Sure, sometimes he’s unreasonable, but he deeply cares for her and even though she contributed a lot of the last war let’s not forget that he was right, she does things on a impulse without proper thought, she doesn’t have physical preparation if she had to do anything all by herself. And it’s not a merit of competence, she’s just unexperienced and too stubborn to understand her life is also valuable. I totally get him and I wouldn’t like my loved one that HAS a choice of not going (different than me) to willingly throw themselves into danger
