I'm not happy with the way the story is going right now either. i hope there's a better solution than Zeke taking Alicia and Azy staying behind. This is too much for a 10 year old to shoulder. He had to grow up without his dad and losing his mom too....nope. a story with barely any Zeke is hard enough, don't need to see a child trying to act like an adult just for the sake of it.

I love your way of thinking. Had the same thought.
Zeke had missed all those moments. He was gone even before Alicia's baby bump became visible. Now Azy was already ten. So many years had already gone by and Zeke would never experience those incredible things anymore. He could never hold Azy as a baby anymore. Some things once lost, were gone forever and never to be regained.

I don't think it's a matter if being right or wrong. people like ot dislike different characters for different reasons. that is what makes books so fascinating. but I will never warm up to Zeres. he's a jealous, easily manipulated person and when things don't go his way he lashes out or plays the victim or both.
