as I keep saying, if you see her recent actions (~chapter 1590 and before); she hates fate almost as much as Sunny (that's hard to do), and definitely redeems her past betrayal (no more spoilers, that arc is peak fiction) in my eyes
Now that I think about it, Cassie's mindset has always been like this in the story, always accepting of fate, thinking of it as an inevitable wall instead of an opportunity. To her, fate is the beginning and the end, breaking it is almost close to blasphemy. Or maybe because she had no way of defying it that she turned out the way she was in the story. To me she seemed miserable, hopeless. Like a bird without its wings. Her wings stolen and chained by fate, no longer able nor aspire to fly. Because that is her fate. Her story is just a prologue to another more important one in the vast tapestry of fate.

the best "system" story I've ever read is shadow slave. Without massive spoilers, the nightmare spell infects everyone who manages to pass a trial (their 1st nightmare), and is essentially a system that is frequently quoted to be "brutally fair"; putting everyone (at least the MC) in near impossible scenarios but always giving them the tools required to complete it, as long as said person has the qualities necessary to take advantage of the opportunities
To him, the idea of being stuck with a 'system'—a contrived, artificial construct that could dictate his actions and monitor him constantly—was far from desirable.
