How can she discuss her marriage with a husband that refuses to engage in even a simple conversation with her? He doesn't even say good night. Her friends have observed his behavior and their description of it is accurate. Just because we know his feelings doesn't mean she does. If he's not going to make a better effort then she has every right to choose people who pay attention to her feelings.
Seeing Maxi lost for words, Anette said with a deep sigh, "Just think about it. If you were to return to Nornui, you would be treated with respect while continuing your studies. Wouldn't it be a shame to miss such an opportunity over a cold stone statue of a man?"

I think this is really the only time she's unfairly been dismissive. Previously she was advocating for living the life that made her happy when HE was dismissive of HER feelings. If she failed to find a path that also made her content she would eventually resent him anyway. But, really 90% of their issue is not talking to one another earnestly about their feelings and motivations. I really hope they get there.
Riftan would never forgive her if he found out that she had gone against his will and followed him here. Perhaps it would finally cause him to be utterly disillusioned with her.
