This chapter lowers the quality of the novel substantially. 5 years have passed but the amount of coins he had has decreased even though he did not die and completed dozens of quests. That would mean that no only did he spend 1000 coins on something even though he can seemingly only use them when he dies but he would also not have earned any coins during any of his dozens of quests. It does not make sense and is a major plot hole.
