An interesting interpretation: "fou" means fool (in tarot the Fool), and in the game there is a "chien", three cards (that are known to everyone), that the one who takes gets additionally. So you could also see an inadvertent reference to him being the Fool's (and important for him in this round).

One thing to note: Fors holds a special place in the tarot club. She is the sole active outlet, as the World and the Fool (21 and Excuse) are in slumber, as the Magician (1). One peculiarity about trump 1, if it wins the last trick, the player gains a hefty bonus, if it loses a hefty malus though. (21 always wins the trick, Excuse never wins a trick, but can't be lost other than in the last trick)
