I lived in the Phoenix area for 17 years. She should be in Northern Mesa with fruit trees. Glendale isn't the nicest neighborhood but not as bad as Maryville. stay far away from there
She greeted us at the door of a beautiful house in a large, sprawling neighborhood in Glendale. Orange trees peppered her property and it seemed immensely cooler than the section of Phoenix where I lived. Not as much asphalt, I guessed.

In fifth grade, I was five foot nine inches tall. Taller than every teacher I'd ever had. I was awkward, gangly, and homely as hell. The girls didn't play with me, the boys ran in the opposite direction, and I turned inward.
