Prince Rhaegal stood in the middle of the practice yard with Jaime. They wore breeches for their training. Daeron was nearby, watching. Ser Arthur Dayne of the Kingsguard was also present, wearing the famous Kingsguard armor. Tyrion knew about the knight because of his status as the newest Sword of the Morning. He was young, but he was probably the most famous knight in the realm at the moment.

There were many times Robert confided in Ned his growing desire to be with his sister, stating that it would be a great union for both of their houses.

Is she really Shiera Seastar? If so, that is honestly insane. But it raises an important question: why did she not help her family with her magic, even from behind the scenes? If the answer is that she was free and simply did not want to, then I am sorry, but that is a stupid and convenient excuse.
The female voice came first, but the voice was not alone this time. It was accompanied by a dark red mask which almost seemed vibrant in the darkness. The eyes behind the mask shined brightly.

I understand that you may find hope in the idea that Dorne never bent the knee. But I would like to remind you that if Dorne rebelled now, its submission would most likely be almost guaranteed. The Targaryens have learned from their old mistakes. They would invade Dorne the way Daeron I did, but this time they would learn from his failures, which could lead to a successful subjugation even without dragons. And if they had dragons, the matter would only become easier. That is not even mentioning the fact that the Targaryens would likely succeed in dividing the Dornish lords from House Martell — winning some of them over, or at least making others remain neutral. No intelligent lord who cares about preserving his lands, wealth, and people from plunder and destruction would blindly refuse such an offer. Some might even gain greatly by joining the invasion. So when you combine all of these things — an improved invasion plan for Dorne, battle-ready dragons, more than two of them, and treacherous Dornish lords joining the Targaryen side — you begin to realize that House Martell’s words are being protected by plot armor more than anything else. They would be broken, just as their ancestors were broken by the Valyrians: the Rhoynar of Essos, who had magic of their own and were far stronger and greater than House Martell ever was.
Shaena would sooner burn down Dorne than let that happen.

Maekar Targaryen was the last truly formidable king House Targaryen ever produced.
And what a man he was turning out to be. The black doublet he wore fit him nicely. His red cloak which barely concealed Brightflame just added to his presence. Aemon felt like he was in the presence of his father all over again.

The Dragonpit was not the same as the one in the past. Rhaegal issued new instructions for the new dragonkeepers. None of the dragons were to be chained while in the Dragonpit. It was a risk, for sure, but it was one that he was willing to take. He knew for a fact that neither Ancalagon nor any of the other dragons would appreciate being put in chains, and he wasn't going to stand for it. Thankfully, the only dragons that spent much time in the city were Moonlight and Paarthurnax. And the two dragons kept to themselves, only emerging when it was time to eat.

Jon:
Rhaegal wanted to sigh. Since when had he inspired such confidence into Jon? Stannis and the others he could understand, but he barely knew the young Connington.

Besides, the Targaryens were never one of the weakest dragonlord families of the Valyrian Freehold. They were far from the most powerful, yes, but among the other dragonlord houses, they were likely closer to a mid-tier family in terms of influence and strength.
The inside of the castle was just as impressive as the outside. It was very richly decorated with flowers and stained-glass windows. According to Mace, the sept inside the castle was similarly furnished, with the windows displaying Garth Greenhand and the Seven. Even though he didn't walk inside, Rhaegal could see that the sept here was almost as grand as the Sept of Baelor in King's Landing.

Wrong. When George was asked that question, it was about both men in their prime — not young Arthur being stronger than, or equal to, an old Barristan. This is what George actually said: “Who would win in a fight, Barristan Selmy or Arthur Dayne — in their best days? Dayne... if he was armed with Dawn. If both men had equivalent weaponry, it might be a toss-up.”
It was not an elaborate ceremony that was being performed in the Great Sept, but knowing his father he would want a repeat of the knighting done there as well. But for Rhaegal, this moment was more powerful than any ceremony, for he was being recognized by perhaps the strongest knight in the realm.

Well, Blackwood blood still runs in his veins. We do not know what future possibilities that might open up.
Approval? Was that all it was? Somehow, in her heart, Lyanna didn't think that was totally true. There was something else that had caused the direwolves to behave this way. Why they waited until Rhaegal was close before they pounced. Was it because his scent got closer?
