it just might be the way the main character speaks so i might just be making assumptions lol
"I should probably start cleaning my place now," he said as he started moving towards the house picking up trash and cleaning his room. He was in the process of cleaning as he felt the ground shake. He just brushed it off as he thought of it being a normal earthquake, but, after some time the ground started shaking again but this time it was not a normal earthquake. this time the earthquake instead of dying down was getting more and more vigorous. Mal's (Auth:- I will call him Mal, The meaning of his name is Persisting till the end = Mal-Chin) face turned white as various thoughts surfaced in his mind. "What if I die here," "After 10 years would I not be able to see the outside world?" "I am just 19 and virgin, I cannot die just yet," (Auth:- Woah buddy calm down 'Chotto matte').

when characters speak it's better for them to use the shortened versions of verbs. like "I'm" instead of "I am" and "can't" instead of "cannot" the latter versions are too stiff and formal it's better used for narration and not for character speech. [img=recommend]

was gin supposed to be grin ?
If the world was what it used to be 10 years ago then he probably would have been famous. But the most eyes catching feature of him was his long and elegant fingers which were holding a pencil and he was scribbling something on a piece of yellowish paper that seemed to be worn off because of the constant erasing and redrawing. While drawing he has a small gin on his face and even his eyes were shining. This young man was another victim of Virus X which started spreading 10 years ago and now all that left of the world is a mere 60% of what it used to be. He didn't catch the virus but his family did and thus he was left alone in the world.
