Really enjoying the build up so far. Unlike most novels, this gives a fresh perspective on MC. From the author's words its clear he is creating an MC who doesn't have any cheats. I am 20 chapters in and the MC is still searching for a cultivation technique. He isn't OP yet and it looks like he will take some time to become OP. A common person's perspective on cultivators is also unique.Here they are not thought of gods, rather as demons. Truly, what does it matter to a mortal if a cultivator is good or evil? Having great hope for this novel...

Is it foreshadowing to MC's ruthlessness?

Duncan paused realizing that it was indeed his first kill. He expected to feel something, but as far as he could tell it really didn't matter much to him. Maybe it was the heat of the moment thing or maybe it was something else. But, Duncan was sure that he didn't feel anything particular about his first kill.
