Monika tried to stand up but the men rushed to her and took her back. The captain came down using the stairs and this time the girls themselves were too shocked to protect her. He cleared his path towards Asterin as he moved gracefully in the middle of the crowd.

Asterin was frozen in her place. She did not understand what this could possibly mean.
