Weird way to describe rain falling down from the heavens. 'Open fire' most of the times involve the use of a gun. weird use of sentences and expressions.
Far away from the alleyway, a trio was in their car, driving at top speed in a residential area. Then suddenly the skies decided to open fire on the people below.

This whole description of all the ball-stomping wannabe biker-girl scientists and sexually charged masochists and weirdos don't make any sense at all whatsoever in this particular instance.

Interesting description to attribute to a lady scientist. Breaking the stereotype, I like that.
Appearance-wise, she looked more like a biker than a scientist. She had short, curly, black hair that she wore as a mohawk. Her triangular face was covered with a green dragon tattoo on the left side which went all the way from her left chin to the back of her head. Under the lab coat, she wore a tight black crop top and a black short skirt, which left a little to imagine about her modest chest and curvy figure. She had a piercing around her navel. Her narrow hips and broad torso made her look more like an MMA fighter and a model rather than a scientist.

Tom turned to face her. Standing at 5'6", Mary had a mysterious background. Not even Tom knew much about her as the Fist kind of forced Tom to recruit her. She was quite young, only 23, and in comparison to the rest of her colleagues was considered a child. Yet, she was the most knowledgeable among them.

She reluctantly opened her eyes. And what she saw next made her fall on her knees. The chains were millimetres away from her face. The chains were struggling to move forward and impale her, but couldn't. Behind the chains, she saw the masked man was holding the chains back with all his might. His hands were bleeding but he didn't let go. It was too much for her. She couldn't take it anymore and collapsed on the ground, unconscious.

But it's a fair point to say this that she is at the level of a beat cop, even if she is in the special forces and this Chris guy is an Impounder.
Miranda was struck by fear. She desperately wanted to move, to dodge the incoming attack, but she couldn't. Her feet were rooted to the ground, refusing to move. The chains would kill her in a moment, but she couldn't stop it from happening. She closed her eyes, not wanting to witness the cause of her death. Seconds passed and she waited and waited, but nothing happened.

Scientists are an eccentric breed. He probably got no time to worry about his son's bad breath when he is busy doing augmentations. Or buy a lifetime supply of mint for his son for that matter 😂
For obvious reasons, the augmentations were a well-hidden secret that not even the top officers working under the special force knew about. But since Marcus's father was one of the leading scientists in the field of augmentation science, he had connections with the right people to know about secrets no one with his level of authority did. But he had been careful not to spread the news about augmentations around, as it would land him and his father, in a lot of trouble. So much trouble that dying would've been the least of his worries.

While the officers were busy, Zaen flung the knife at the ghoul, hitting it in the head. The bulky, orange-skinned man saw the knife flying in his direction. He tried to deflect it before it hit the ghoul but it was too last. He wasn't fast enough.

This feels slightly off. Like sure, the text from the phone gave the instruction on finding & killing the Ghoul asap. But the change in the protagonist's demeanour just due to this one text doesn't add up. Only in the previous chapter itself, does Zaen have doubts regarding the motive that the Special Forces have, and didn't want them to know about him or know about his whereabouts in any possible way. But here he is, creating commotion irresponsibly and even if it isn't drawing attention to him directly for the fact that he is invisible, he should have guessed that his creating chaos on the streets would draw the unnecessary attention of the soldiers and interfere in his completion of the mission at hand, i.e. to kill the Ghoul.
'For crying out loud! We're supposed to be the most advanced nation and these people still believe in stupid things like ghosts?' Zaen thought as he jumped over an old lady to save her from getting injured, 'Well... I think they aren't wrong. After all, ghouls exist, don't they? Who knows what else exists in this accursed world. Dang it! The special force would now know something is wrong here.'

He couldn't even fathom what would happen to the humans if this place somehow got replaced with the true realm. The mere thought of having Aeron live in this place, made Zaen's limbs go numb. However, his peace and leisure didn't last for long as he heard a sudden thumping of footsteps rushing towards him from every direction. After all, the ghouls go easily feel his presence since he wasn't wearing the Mask of Secrecy as he wanted to save its durability points.
