I think he means it’s dumb asf to put your character so far back if you won’t change squat about the book simply for the “knowledge of cannon”.
Third, I'll need territory, and it shouldn't be in the open, like in the four seas and the new world, not only would that cause me unnecessary trouble which goes against my way of a simple life but that might cause changes in the plot. I mean yea it’s plot, I just say plot armor cause it’s so common for an event to happen like this in books like this. Which honestly I’m fine with woukd just be nice to see it done and used in a unique way and not the standard copy paste, in the sense of how it’s done and also the way it’s used for growth.

I know it’s set up for her to live and she’s to key for the plot to die. Woukd just be nice to see an author say f that and wipe a character like that and use them for growth in a different way than the normal sense of she “died” now I must get strong to bring her back type trope

My only issue is stressing out things that honestly can be done in a paragraph or two not 3 or 4 chapters. The best example is fire sure the armor, like you can easily explain it’s pros and cons in a chapter or two. This of course also gives the rest of the book to dive into the deeper aspects of the suit without needing 5+ chapters of just an armor that overall does not move the plot in any way.
Ps: If it's about the pacing, I really am trying to speed things up. But honestly I've come to realize that this is just how I write. I love adding details(that might seem useless to you) when I'm writing. And if it irks you, this poor author is sorry :(. Ill try my best to ramp up the pace. Btw, how's the pacing since the start of the summit?
