Hearing these words the moment it was released, Feebas's dull eyes dimmed even further. Its tail slowly stopped moving as it lay flat on the ground.

Using his left hand and deliberately distorting his usual style, Matthew wrote out the details of the weapons shipment—dock number, time, number of guards, and the planned distribution route through the Narrows. He signed it simply "A Concerned Citizen" and folded it carefully.

"Hey. Wake up." Bob cut him off bluntly. "Forget the evidence. If he's as useful as you say, and he's on our side, then whether he's a killer doesn't matter."

wait- but if this method doesn't harm the forest, why not make it more wild spread? I mean sure, give an age threshold and make sure they understand what it is and it's consequences. But even a small boon is still a boon, especially if it allow healing. Even if they want to just keep it to themselves, their is different (more powerful and less taxing I would imagine). Is it really just traditions? Imagine the research potential, the lives it could save- and if the 'blossoming' of the seed is random, it would give poor/people with no connection the potential to rise without needing to be a genius or have protagonist luck. This could reform societal structure to give equal opportunities. And that just healing. If they can talk to Pokemon the potential is massive.
"I know I can't convince you to stay, but we worry about you traveling alone at such a young age, so I decided to give you a safeguard. Although I can't officially grant you the Power of Viridian, I can lift the seal preventing your awakening and plant a seed within you. If you're fortunate, you may awaken the Power of Viridian on your own. However, without the forest's protection, using the power will drain your own life force. You understand what that means if you use it excessively."
