really? farmlands inside walls smh.. so every fief is basically having a The Great Wall of China around itself? and what for when half of the monsters can fly, the other half climb, not to mention the cost of all the soldiers manning the walls

Before long, the gates opened to welcome the army, revealing a rustic expanse of farmland. Maxi took in the landscape as she followed the knights on horseback. The once-ravaged urban areas now boasted sturdy wooden homes, and the fields, previously littered with corpses, were being diligently plowed by dozens of peasants. Evidently, many of the city's residents had returned.

i wish instead of this pointless and imo boring part/arc with Lienna (basically a jealousy trope for 100th time in this book), we got Rif POV of slaying the dragon

Lienna Moor Thorben stood atop the gate. She raised her hand, and the Dristanians lining the battlement sounded their horns as the cavalry set off across the field.

I meant what they did in reality, but here frozen meat could also lure predators.

The soldiers swiftly unloaded sacks of bread, slabs of frozen meat, and barrels of ale. Maxi watched them heft the supplies onto their shoulders, biting her lip.
