"As our judges, we have Rudolph Spielman from Germany, Elena Vasilev from Russia, Lars Erikson from Sweden, Catarina Barros from Portugal, and finally, Albus Dumbledore from Britain."

Fleur decided to respond to her friend's query, "I don't know. I think it's up to every school to decide. At least they haven't used that loathsome Goblet of Fire. Who in their right mind would bind themselves magically for just a school tournament?"

Fleur chortled, "Of course not. They're not stupid. Personally, I think the best way to go about it, is to look for any documentation or filed paperwork involving the import of dangerous creatures. We'll be able to be prepared then."

"Mayhaps that is true, but Rhaerra was no ordinary girl. She was bred from many generations of slaves by masters who sought certain traits. They bred beauty with beauty, beauty with strength, beauty with intellect, and it goes on. Rhaerra... she is what you might call the 'perfect' culmination of hundreds of years of such practices."

Well, shit. It looked like she had no real choice in the matter. Still, Evans was obviously competent, but unstable. It was a strange contrast with her son, who liked to be in complete control of himself. She also seemed to share his tendency towards bragging. Harry's greatest fault was his desire to show just how smart he was, but it was normally tempered by his desire to be underestimated. When people truly realized his true potential, he often liked to show his intelligence through his observation and deductions. It wasn't really a major fault, but no one was truly perfect. Lily Evans seemed to share this tendency of bragging, mixed with a form of sadism at knowing that there was nothing Hermione could do about it.

"Now, I have a few names on my list that I need to tick off. And afterwards, when I'm done… I guess, it would be time for me to meet my son."

Lily snorted at that, "Reality is very rarely what we imagine it to be."

He ran towards Harry who had put an illusion of himself and warped the space to move away. When the man broke it, a flashbang rune activated, blinding him. However, the vampire didn't seem bothered, "Theatricality and illusions are powerful agents against inexperienced opponents. But we're all experienced fighters here, aren't we, boy?"

Fleur Delacour didn't want to be there. She didn't particularly like Quidditch. The sport just lacked grace. She preferred Broom Racing. Now, that was a fascinating sport, that pushed broom makers to make improvements every year, and where competitors had to be both precise and graceful to win. Quidditch felt like a sport created by barbarians, who had no idea what they were doing. It was like a few friends just started to throw around balls and asked their smaller siblings to catch a golden bird so that they wouldn't bother them.

"In the summer before my third year, an organization contacted my parents. Apparently, they were impressed by my talent and wanted to offer a scholarship of some sort. It was small, at first, just a few extra books, but then they offered instruction on Occlumency and Legilimency, then duelling lessons… I saw it for what it was, but my parents were convinced that this would be the best opportunity I could have. They were all so nice, but then when I refused to learn the blood-boiling curse, they took me aside and threatened my parents, my family, if I didn't cooperate. I had no idea who they were, at the start. They just called themselves the foundation."

"I don't owe him anything. As far as I'm concerned, I paid my debt to him fair and square, going above and beyond. Just because he doesn't know everything, I did for him, doesn't mean that they never happened. And I think having a friend, even one like you, would help him. Being alone is such a horrible thing… I'll be watching you with great interest, Hermione Granger."

Further along, he stumbled upon a tent where Japanese witches were practising the ancient art of paper magic. With delicate flicks of their wands, they brought to life intricate origami animals that danced in the air, folding and unfolding themselves into new shapes. It was magic Harry had never seen before, but he had read about it. While it was currently something ceremonial in nature, and considered to be an outdated form of magic, ancient Japanese mages often used it in conjunction with their infamous paper runes to achieve some very impressive results.
