This looks like a hint at trauma behind her murder streak. The guys we saw killed earlier looked like creeps, perhaps not completely deserving of death, but Amo appears to be a flat-out rapist. I wonder what Dragon did with him? Rosina may not be willing or able to form a proper mate bond, or to even make a truly free choice to mate or not because of her prior trauma. So far, we only have this hint at what it might be, but it appears that she was quite young. Too bad she couldn't access some therapy before being required to attend this ball. There seem to be at least two decent males there to spend time with, and I wish she was able to enjoy herself more socially. She does get along well with her two maids, though. Aren't they adorable???!!!

Really??? I like the word! Discombobulation is a fun-to-say word that vividly conveys the confusion and disorientation that she feels. Why complain about this one? It's a much easier word to understand than "puissance", which was used earlier (the only English word I've had to look up so far). It's one I'd encountered a long time ago and just didn't remember. I like this author's vocabulary. I don't want to just read tiny words all the time. Let's enjoy the richness of our language and pick up a few new words now and then! It can be fun. My only issue is the lack of translation of the Slavic language. I don't mind having it in the dialogue--it shows the communication issue and cultural difference well. I've looked up a few words (the internet is helpful). A translation could be posted separately under the applicable paragraph, which would be helpful to readers.
As determination drowns me with that fresh mindset which settles in so does discombobulation. Why are there no forks, knives or spoons in sight? Perhaps I must go fetch them for myself? Do they not place them at the table before every meal?

The term is tow-headed. Its origin is in tow fiber, which is the shorter fibers left after processing flax for eventual weaving into linen fabric. It has its own uses. These fibers are quite light in color, hence the name for very light blondes. I learned this while learning the spinning of flax (linen) and wool into thread/yarn. Incidentally, my husband was a tow-head and never did darken very much until his gray came in. Even that was pretty pale!
