It was a little shorter than the previous tournament, sure, but it's still like 14 chapters so far since the 'start of the tournament' - that's two weeks of random npcs nobody cares about yelling at and 'you dare'-ing eachother just so they can get jobbed real quick in the last round (after they've already been doing the same thing for this whole arc). It's fine to skim just a bit and move on to when someone at least tangetially relevant is doing anything - if you compressed these chapters to one per day of the tournament (maybe even one extra at the beginning to set things up) everyone would still have the **exact** same opinions of every participant as they do now (which they've already had from the previous times they showed up - maybe minister's son and the blackfin kid's most likely demon spy girlfriend are the only ones who are new) and we'd be onto something interesting happening by now.

I thought he basically just gave them some free points by letting them finish off the other team instead of taking them out himself so they'd be in contention for second? With that invisibility potion and the overpowered sword, I'd have thought it would have been easy to time an entry where he took out both teams, but he gave them the helping hand to get the points. I guess no matter what, it's hard to think objectively immediately after getting 'killed' though so understandable they're not grateful or anything.

The last message sums up how it seems to me, too - it really feels like the only thing he has against Shira is that original reason for wanting to kill his other women came from her family saying to, instead of him tricking her into doing so. Otherwise, he's explicitly setting up the same situation with all the other girls, and they're all basically doing the same thing as she did (except the dragon princess, because he knows she would succeed) - he's just jealous he didn't meet her first like an incel who's angry his target isn't 'pure' / had a boyfriend before him.

It's REALLY funny how everyone's response to this emphasizes it to be true - he says basically the same thing as Hercules, and the response is different because Hercules is just seen as an pompous idiot and Ares "should know better" because he has a few brain cells that can cling together.
