Which makes me wonder: can I shield Vanessa from specific shadows rather than everyone's? If that were the case, it might make it easier for her to concentrate without being overwhelmed. I could also help guide her as to which shadows to read at certain times.

I probably shouldn't have brought that back up, because it will have only reminded Vanessa of those images in Angelique's shadow. But I don't plan on her getting any new images to ponder, which is why she is definitely being shielded from Angelique's shadow from now on.
