That's the problem, Batman is kept sane and in-line by that moral code of his. Without it, he just wouldn't be able to stop killing and would spiral, or as in some cases, have the insane side of him fully come out and then we'd have The Darkest Knight and stuff.
Morals huh? I pride myself on that, I haven't killed a person before, which I am proud of, I'm sure Batman would be too. I chuckled to myself at my stupid humour, I know my jokes are as dry as the clown prince of crime himself but at least I find it funny.
