I completely disagree with your review. MC is fully benefit oriented, automatically making him way smarter than all those braindead romance/harem MCs that catch girls like pokemon and keep them as dead weight. And he's fully rational- he wouldn't hesitate to put aside arrogance for benefits. Tell me which "annoying chinese young master" does this?

People are forgetting that the Japan admin, Yui, is really stupid. Although she's trying to suppress Tian, he's gained more benefits than losses. Its because of her that Tian found the Temple, 20 skeletons, Silica, and probably way more rewards from the upcoming trials. And don't forget that Yui is going against the direct orders of the fallen god, things probably won't end well for her.
