Whoops, didn't think I'd make another review but this novel won me over and now I'm hooked. Please go easy on me as I'm not as experienced in writing reviews. i think itd be better if this was treated as a "thoughts essay". Also please bear in mind as i just wrote this in one go so i might have briefly talked about some spoilers so if you hate spoilers just ignore this. thanks. Honestly, at first I tried reading due to my curiosity of the title but quickly dropped it. It took me a few months before I retried this novel due to the comments saying that it gets better after 40+ chapters, and thankfully it did! I really love how the characters act out and I like how realistic and real they feel. They don't feel 1 dimensional. And man, for some characters their development is chef's kiss. Really loving Jin, from someone I don't care about to one of my most favourites in this novel. It's such a shame that he doesn't appear much, I honestly think he has so much potential and I think that the dynamics for ren and jin will be interesting. I feel like their status or behaviours haven't moved much after the Holberg incident. Now, besides that, while I do love the characters a lot, I feel like we don't get to see a much more in-depth on the personalities of the side characters esp these three emma, melissa, amanda. I feel like they don't feel "fleshed out enough". I guess since it's after all "the author's POV" so the perspectives of these others characters may no choice but be shallow. Maybe it's just me but I feel like, while subtle, these 3 girls are always "inferior" or just tossed as the love interests of the mc and author mc. Kinda wish there was a much more platonic or letting them able to stand by themselves kind of viewpoint. I know compared to many other novels, this one is waay toned down from stereotypes but whenever there is that subtlety, it irks and gets on my nerves a little. speaking of love, seen many comments wanting the romance to come faster and i feel like the romance as it is just sounds right and feels right. idk about the rest, but usually romance and esp harem really destroys/hurts the quality and plot. I feel like if there was going to be focus or arc on romance, it should be after the main story finishes because besides that, I feel like romance is not as appropriate in current story or realistic. Like think about it, the world is going to be attacked and extinction may happen in the next cataclysm or so etc yet author mc might fall in love with others? not to mention ren's current state is not stable? kinda weird for some romance to happen. like what happen to his priorities yk? Now back to the story/plot, I've gotta say that I am really impressed. I like the system/ranking idea but most of all i like the arcs and the story development, the main thing that got me hooked. Even now, what make me stick to this novel is my curiosity of how the plot will turn out, anticipating everblood's importance and the 3rd cataclysm and like how ren secret as author is flowed out that was mentioned briefly. Another huge thing that I like is how author mc is also subjected to failure and weakness. Like didn't expect author mc to get fucked over by everblood and the author mc dying. Pleasant surprise, i mean no one like plot armoured op protags right? thatd be predictable and boring. Next, i really like the caissab group and tbh itd be nice to see more of their dynamic fighting together, yeah they travelled together and all but it feels like it was skipped too fast? though im anticipating as caissa will probably be focused more judging on the recent chapters. i wonder how their role would be and how many more members are going to be introduced. i feel like caissa has so much potential, so im excited. i also think that interactions between "kevins party" and caissa would be interesting combo. now i did see that the author is planning to end 500+ chapter which is a bummer because tbh i feel like there is still many things that can be developed like even if there was another 300+ chapters, i dont think itd feel stretched out so im a bit worried. itd be a shame if such a good novel was ended abruptly/rushed. however, i trust the author's decisions so im not as worried. novel aside, the amount of uploads have been crazy, i feel a bit worried for author's wellbeing. hope author dont rush and end up feeling burnt out. ohh and side note, but i feel like this novel would look fantastic in a comic. I feel like the "flowery" type of artstyles would suit it considering that this world is fantasy and reincarnation inside a novel lol. the fight scenes would be absolutely mesmerising. it would be nice if there was a comic after all those beginning 40+ chapters are improved. wishful thinking though. i could talk more about this novel all day as it has really become one of my favourites but after looking through, it feels like my review looks more of a rambling. oops! well, nevertheless, would definitely recommend to try the novel out because it really gets better. again, im no good critic, just a novel-obsessed reader.
