the author miscalculated as the soul of a demon lord can only hold mostly 2 ultimates , rimuru can get 4 to 5 ultimates because he is an fragmented soul of veldanava or because he has a larger soul corridor to accomodate many ultimates. So basically at his demon Duke level and 2 reincarnations he is mostly capable of holding only 2 ultimates any more and he might explode his soul as the soul is the carrier for ultimates
It doesn't even need a lot of effort, it just needs to see the Ultimate Skill in use then it can analyze it and copy it.

huh if you put it that way it's reasonable. But if you read you first chapters before transmigration and after transmigration you will realise the personality and his traits changes I know environment can change a person depending on situation but his source is Assassin you know if you compare his traits you will find he more of a hero type who is seeking attention or his morality and virtues have definitely changed and environment is not it's reason rather it's like ego has changed you get what I mean author - kun btw I really liked reading this cause it's unique for fanfictions of eminance in shadow to exist.

While Rudeus opted to learn more about magic, I was interested in both magic and sword fight. There was an obvious drawback to both. Magic was more potent and destructive having extremely explosive properties, meanwhile swordfight was more practical and less time consuming. Even if the spell took one second, a quick-draw technique could put an end to it. So, magic and swordsmanship combined could make a good duo, but I couldn't find a good book on it. Hence, I decided to learn swordsmanship on my own and observe Rudeus' progress and learn from him.

Dismantle is a ranged slashing attack that is primarily used to target inanimate objects, but I am also capable of adjusting it to attack living beings as well. And just like Sukuna I am capable of targeting the 'world' with it, basically severing space. This Skill has the potential to grow into a far stronger Skill, one that could theoretically cut connections between beings, like a Soul Corridor, or the Soul itself.
