I remember Katara and that old bloodbender could drain water from trees, but I don't remember them or anyone else controlling wood. Controlling vines with waterbending that's a thing sure but not so much for wood.

this isn't Naruto how would he even control wood. It most likely he'll be able to learn: -lava bending -metal bending -sand bending -crystal bending I don't see how wood fits into that

Avatar Wan had the four elements before he fused with Ravva, his bending was gifted to him directly by the giant lion tortoises, then he fused with Ravva during his battle with Vatu, as such I don't see how him fusing with Vatu would give him access to the other two bending elements. He has to get the Giant lion tortoises to give him those elements

By doing so you will have access to all 4 of the elements, similarly to Aang and Raava."This caused Kypher to shudder, it would be impossibly hard to do this so he to cross the bridge when he gets there.
