It would seem they have their hands full. They thought that the only weird member of their group would be Riley, but it turns out they have the whole package with the twins.

Yeah, but if the elder could sense his mana structure, then he should've also recognized that it wasn't exactly the same as Karl's regardless of the demon contract he signed, especially considering how important Karl was to the Elders prior to Ren's invasion and how many times they must've also have sensed his distinct mana structure. Unless the Elder was just comparing his mana to how it was as soon as Ren introduced himself as 'Karl', then I definitely don't see an issue there. These were just my thoughts from back then though, and it doesn't bother me anymore lol.
Recognizing Karl's mana signature, the elder was able to tell that he was still alive. At this revelation, he felt a lot more relaxed. As long as he was alive, all was good.
