I have a horrible intuition that "the terrible monster that lived in his soul" part is foreshadowing. I mean, we don't know what happened to the other Yuan Xuelan after he died. Also, he shouldn't be having these dreams unless the two were somehow connected. We might be in for a possession storyline.
Somehow, the Yuan Xuelan in the dream held his cool and silently strode next to Liu Sumeng. There was carnage all around them. There was often carnage featured in these dreams. Yuan Xuelan wondered if it was a reflection of a terrible monster that lurked in his soul.

Why does it feel like Qingqiu has this weird sexual tension with like half of the male characters? I know that the author said that all the characters except the leads are straight, but I find that hard to believe sometimes.
The more he said that, the more Shen Qingqiu wanted to look at him. Only then did he realize that, maybe because Liu Qingge was too angry or something, a faint pink had climbed from the corner of his eyes all the way to his cheeks. His usual gaze was calm and borderline apathetic; however, the light in those eyes was now rippling through his orbs, like the surface of a frozen lake that broke into a million pieces.
