No. Not everyone who has a bad youth turns into a criminal. Not everyone who has been bullied turns into a bullyer. Not everyone who has been robbed turns into a thief. And so on. Because they have character. That’ s what Iris also had, but what’s completely ruined now. She’s lost her credibility now she has stooped so low (or even lower, since she knows how horrific being whipped is) as her former tormentors.

This whole thing of Iris ordering that someone be whipped to death is totally inconsistent with everything we’ve read about Iris. It’s completely illogical and ruins her whole character build up. And then the cunning deliberation to have Redmond do this dirty work…it’s downright vicious. She is really turning into her stepfather’s daughter now. Totally illogical. Character development doesn’t mean acting out of character and that’s what’s happening right now. Did the author forget about his carefull character build up?

It would be appropriate to see a redemption arc for Aria, though. Not quite fair to her being the evil witch in the story now, when she had to undergo as much atrocities as Cane and more than the rest of pack had to. Not justifying her actions, but picturing her like this is going a bit overboard, especially since Cane now is the hero of the story, while he raped Iris more than once. Maybe Dexter could be a unexpected factor. Didn’t it say he got to know her over the last months and got attached a little bit?

Somehow this story is only progressing in a negative direction, the author obviously has SAW aspirations. It already was (too) dark, but now it’s going overboard more and more. A turn towards a positive lovestory would be ridiculous now. Dead End street. No more coins from me.
