Unless this guy is the book of light turned person I don't understand why he'd notice Gabriel with his aura suppressed and everything hidden. How else could someone be able to see past the disguise and rings if not even other leaders of the elements can't see through it? Even the water book holder couldn't see through him.

Seems very risky to me. Safest and best option would be to agree to go back to the clan then present the medal and story to the leader. You never know who are enemies hiding behind their smiles and if anyone had a problem with the leader, Leslie getting married, or had betrayed their clan to the rebels then you're setting yourself up you be exploited or assassinated.

I agree. Why the rush when gramps is already dead? You're in a safe place and no one will bother you, you have food and water, and you have plenty of skills that simply need time to pass for mana as you steadily level them up. No need to be in such a hurry to use anything or leave anywhere atm.
