So putting large amounts of ki inside and letting them rampage inside the meridians could result in a temporary boost of one's strength but because the amount of ki inside the meridians rages on and basically just slowly damages them, it makes it pretty exhausting to keep the stamina up to remain and such a state. When worse becomes worst. You could permanently damage them and would lose the ability to make the best use of the energies.
