I think we need more in depth back story rather than just as plain as his father just seeking power. That will be bland and boring. What I want to see is that why he chose power and left his children alone, and what was his reason to Abandon his children. Not some old bull…. Like he is messed up in head or born evil or loss of emotions. Just some paragraphs of explaining his emotions in upcoming story like he didn’t love mc and his bro as much as he loved hesta firstborn or some meaningful story please 🙏 don’t spoil it by ‘just born evil’ cliches author

What I meant was we currently have branching storylines here like story with his mom, dad, sister. Then finding vessel for his bro, then is territory ancient ruin then untamed jungle itself, then the empire, then his curses, now his fluctuating emotions. Finishing those side stories in between can create ‘feel good’ effect for us on this ride(novel) I was hoping for that 😅
