After the first boss the packs get larger. The 5 points from his level up that he put into INT really helped though, doubling Cain's mana pool and giving him some leeway to fire arrows and still Summon the Golems if they're destroyed or the party is ambushed and they can't get back on time.

Still, a map, directions to town essentials, something, anything at all would have been nice. It's not as if people seem to be big on lending a hand. Like there's an unspoken rule of 'figure it out yourself'. Except for the guy who gave him a bat and that cute cleric, so maybe the player base isn't all that bad.
