"I just beat someone to death with a tree branch! Shouldn't I care more? Shouldn't I feel some type of sadness?"

He looked up at the tree's branches and saw the brightly colored golden flowers that hung from each branch. One of those many petals would hold the power that he would carry the rest of his life.
