He proceeded to draw the letter "A" on the wall and stepped back. He continued to move back until his back had hit the wall that was on the other side of the room. The figure 'A' was still there, and he could see it clearly.

A huge mass darted through that open gash, like a car at high speed and violently slammed into Braden, sending her into an aerial glide across the mansion. She eventually crashed onto the floor after traversing several feet of distance away from the point of impact. Scott watched as her body fell limp, they all did, but their attention was soon snatched away by the creature towering over her unconscious figure.

I don't really read romance but I read the other fiction from the author and I liked it. I prefer action filled stories but well. i've grown to like the FL. I like following her internal rants and her thoughts. She's really fun to read. At first i was afraid the FL's friend was going to be a one dimensional character that just is there to make the FL look good, but i really love their dynamic and after the fortune teller chapter I am curious to know what her story is. Also the dynamic between them reminds me of a phrase i've heard before: you don't make friends by insulting people, you insult them after you become friends. As for the romance part, i absolutely love that they are not instantly crazy about each other or just horny all the time. I guess that's what slow burn means, i'm not familiar with the terms. the ML is still a bit mysterious but i liked seeing what kind of person he is through his actions. I was worried i'd find the chapters where they just sit and talk boring, but the dialog between them is kinda sweet and i forgive the exposition because I feel like they're really getting closer to each other. The chapters where they are together actually feel short. I just want to see them get together! The dialog is something that I enjoy in this novel, because i feel like they're actual people having a conversation near me. The way the discussion gets sidetracked sometimes feels realistic to me. there are entire segments that seem meaningless at first but then it turns out they were a clue for some other secret to uncover. Same goes for description. The way the author chose to describe things and characters says a lot about the FL since it's a 1POV. I am getting attached to the side characters, i'm invested in the FL's relationship with her father, i am curious to know more about her past. Same goes for the ML, i can't wait to find out more about their supernatural society. I like that i get to find things up piece by piece throughout the chapters. Anyways, it's a good read and i think i'll follow the story through to the end.
