Maxi crouched to inspect Riftan's arm herself. A long gash along his smooth, bronze skin peeked through the rip in his tunic. The mage was correct. The cut did not appear deep, and it was healed in no time at all. Riftan promptly snapped his vambrace back and rose to his feet.

ahhh..noo..just stop this 😭 i hate to admit even tho they are both in the wrong for lack of communication but here is a war ground..so anything must be concealed and spoken in low voice..so in my stead, i don't blame riftan for being too close with agnes here as any spy might came after..and here,i got the second hand emberassment for maxi 😭 just why the author torture maxi's pride in this mean..i feel pain and sad for her..
