I was being dragged across the floor by my clothes, I had made a miscalculation. As I stopped the flow of mana I soon came to a rolling stop, everywhere hurting.

Why are you going towards it...
As I walked towards the smoke no one could be seen. The streets were desolate goods abandoned, stalls ravaged. I reached the epicenter of the chaos and what I saw turned my stomach. It was Ms. Francis mutilated, laying outside the building, her intestines strung along the street like the power cables above. I walked towards the body to get a closer look and it was her, her light red hair now crimson with her own blood. I was dumbfounded, I asked my self why someone would want to kill her but I couldn't find a reason.

It walked towards me as if it knew what I was saying, bowed its head and pressed it against my chest. I returned its sentiment with a hug. It hadn't been long but the time we spent together was truly that of a life time, or at least it was to me.

The vibe I have gotten from the story so far is that it's a slow burn. The author sacrificed meaningless early hype to build up the characters. As you get further in it gets better. I'd like a bit more info on the world though, it seems interesting. As for the characters... they're... ok, they're not bad, nor are they cardboard cutouts, but I'd like to see more until I decide how good they are. I look forward to see the story develop. Side note... Jane is best girl... fight me.
