It was so overwhelming that she did not even know how many monsters were chasing after them. She was frantically looking about when the force pulling her made her stagger and stick closer to the wall. Keeping her shielded behind him, Kuahel smashed the charging monsters into smithereens with a single swing of his blade. Having met a dead end, he turned them around and began sprinting again.

A year after the chapter was published I laugh at the comments. I agree with some, who point out that there may be a taste for kuahel for maxi, but he sets his limits, he is very committed to his position and to the church that was imposed on him since he was a child, it is the only thing he knows in his life . Maxi is the first woman he has interaction with, and he actually trusts her. Even though he had to take care of her, perhaps out of fear of Riftan, he stayed close to her from the beginning.
