I read whatever and write stupid stuff- right now, I'm writing Wastelandica, a post-apocalyptic anthology mystery, and NovaDog, a madcap adventure story about elves in space.

I like the idea of a video game isekai that's also time travel. This might not be what you're going for, but I wonder- if he came across a player character, would their version of the 'real world' also be in the future? That's assuming there are other PCs, though, which is a big assumption to make.
I see, today is the 21st of the 5th month of the year…4290? That's over 300 years since the last patch in Altarier!

This could mean one of two things: one, people playing the game fainted in real life, and two, the game has a sensory overload mechanic that makes your character pass out upon meeting a threshold. I don't know which is more interesting
However, the reason Vald chose to go for [Ambitus] was that the other two required line of sight to be able to work. If you couldn't see the thing you wanted to scan, then the skill didn't work. [Ambitus], by definition, was just a sphere of influence that gathered information about everything in that defined space. Those who were invisible in that space, even if they were barely corporeal and their only trace of existence in that space were their souls, could still be detected. It was overpowered for a low-tier skill, but the user also had to be extremely well-versed in dealing with large amounts of information, extremely large, in fact, that some fainted from sensory overload.

That's one big map.
"Settlement? Town?", he didn't know. It was far too small for him to clearly make out. "Doesn't hurt to go there", he mumbled, for it was going to take no more than 2 hours to get to the edge of the horizon, assuming that the world he was on had a similar size to Earth.

I wonder what achievement you have to complete to unlock this last one.

I really appreciate it!
Every year- well, every year since Reca was born, at least- the winter had come, blanketing the rusty, beat-up metal shacks and barely-formed dirt roads in a coat of off-white powder. At night, you could even see the white stuff glowing a little. Night hadn't come yet, and it was the first snow of the year... but this time, things were a little different.

Thankfully, it's only around for this chapter.
Reca's caretakers had told her that the snow would slowly become more acidic over time. This was a big jump in acidity, though. Unusual. Reca considered it for a second, but was unable to come up with an explanation with what little she remembered of environmental science.

Thank you! And thank you for reading!

I was half-expecting him to take Gin up on the offer to become the leader.

The fact that he's level 80 makes me think he's gonna have some kind of battle power- unless he leveled up somehow without combat.

This is probably not needed, but if you want I can find the artists for all these images and comment them.

Before the skeleton, I assumed (because of the food+bottles+cat) that this was going to go in some sort of Alice In Wonderland direction.

The artist who drew the cover is kvacm on Deviantart- sorry if I'm being annoying with these credit messages.

Hi! This doesn't have anything to do with the story, but if you want to credit the artist who made the cover, they're called Li HH on Artstation.

Are small fairies the same species as the big ones?
We reached the lake which was the epitome of serenity and beauty. The water was calm with a little fog on top. The shores of the lake were covered with flowers and rushes. Small fairies no larger than a finger hovered over them. This was the most beautiful place for me but then I hadn't seen what lay outside our realm.

This doesn't have anything to do with the content, but is his name pronounced more like ziran or chiran?
"X...iran," I called him out breathlessly. He lifted his curved lashes and threw me a seductive glance, my toe still in his mouth. Both his hands clutched my foot.
