Paranoia. They wouldn't give a shit about you muggles. Wouldn't even interact with one unless you go shouting about Wizards and shit.
If the wrong wizard discovered he knew about the magical world, even the supposedly "good" side would happily dig through his skull and erase memories like they were cleaning graffiti off a wall. Basically Mind-rape him as bureaucratic procedure. Truly delightful people.

Well, that happens when you are an adult in a child's body. You can't really form a parental bond when thinking about your first parents. Think of stepparents. Some kids can't even bond with their stepfather or stepmother how much more to an adult?
At some point during the years after his reincarnation, Tyson had become painfully aware of something his adoptive parents probably understood too: the bond between them never fit neatly into the shape of mother and son or father and son.
