I'm extremely sorry everyone, but as it turned out, writing two books is very draining both mentally and physically (I've had my eyes checked a few days ago and was strictly told that I needed to cut down the time i spent staring at the screen QAQ) and so I choose to focus on another book - Dark Salvation - as it's always meant to be a short story. WBNC, on the other hand, still have quite a lot of content to be written, but I will ensure we will see the ending before 2025! ><

Noir's expression darkened as he briskly brushed the shimmering glitter from his hair and shoulders. A pair of bone wings then unfurled behind his back and he swiftly took flight, departing from the scene.

"Ah… ah…" extreme fear was reflected in the man's eyes as he stared up at the creature's bulging stomach, which was filled with countless small offspring wriggling in the amniotic fluid within. With a sickening whoosh, the creature's stomach split open, and a deluge of its young rained down on the man! "AHH— HELP… HELP ME!!"

It resembled a spider, albeit a hundred times larger than normal, and it possessed pincher claws similar to a crab. Its six beady eyes darted around before honing in on the male player who was bleeding profusely on the ground, and with a speed so fast it was invisible to be caught by naked eyes, it leaped out of the box and landed right above the man with a resounding thud!

It wasn't only Chen Ru who had a rough day— scratch that, Song Zhuyu had been sleep-deprived for the past few days as he needed to wake up on time to meet Rui Ye. But now that he decided to cease his impromptu visit, he could finally get his much-needed sleep.

With a quick glance, Song Zhuyu noticed another similar statue on top of the fridge, and another inside the transparent cabinet on the hallway where various decorations were displayed, starting from an exotic tribal mask with huge bulging eyes to a large fang that seemed to belong to a fierce predator. Come to think of it, Song Zhuyu had not encountered any common animals or pets like cats, dogs, rabbits or turquoises on the island.

He had never encountered such an intensely corrupted fetus, yet for some inexplicable reason, the mother remained relatively unscathed. This raised numerous questions in his mind. Why only the fetus? Was it truly due to the dark energy of this house, or did it have something to do with the God Ma Boliu had mentioned?

As they approached the house, Ma Zhong's wife came out to greet them while supporting her heavily pregnant daughter-in-law. She appeared to be in her sixties, her hair graying and her appearance unremarkable, yet her smile radiated warmth and hospitality. On the other hand, the daughter-in-law seemed so young that Song Zhuyu couldn't help but wonder whether she was even twenty yet. But after the incident with Rui Ye, he wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions anymore.

As someone who usually woke up much later, this was the first time he had seen Song Zhuyu in such a disheveled state. His waist-length crimson curls appeared more unruly than usual, cascading around his bare torso and adding a wild charm to his overall appearance. Chen Ru had always known that Song Zhuyu had a great figure beneath the black cassock and the loose clothing he often wore – and had also caught a glimpse when the man purposefully lifted his shirt yesterday – but damn… was he even human?! What kind of deliciously sinful body was that?!
