i explained it in the chapter that said house phoenix. So don't be angry I did my research before i took the lands of the reach, and i still made the reach big enough to be one of the major kingdoms

i undertstand your reasoning, but I didn't just cut off 1/3 of the reach for no reason. i did my research and found out house Martel wasn't the first ruler of the reach but was given to them by aegon the conqueror after killing the house that controled the reach, then place house Martel as the warden of the reach. So afterall that research I did i decided after house phoenix was the one who help aegon the most, he gave house Phoenix vast lands encompassing some of the reach which extended into the Storm lands.
