Is garbs a fate reference or a term in that that verse that I don't understand, or did you mean barbs? As in, something that is pointed, sharp, and (usually) relatively small. Like a fishing hook if you straightened it out. Just wondering. Big fan by the way! ❤️

I really love these "heart to heart " moments that are sprinkled here and there in the book. If he starts to have doubts, is feeling depressed, lets his anger or rage get the better of him, or whatever it is that happens to be plaguing his mind, his girls are almost always why he gets through it. These interactions show just how deeply they all love and care for Alex, and vice versa. Heartwarming to read.

I'm imagining something along the lines of one of Alucard's pistols (from Hellsing: Ultimate). The First is actually chambered in a real cartridge, .454 Cassul. Although they had been improved and custom made, which I imagine is because they use VERY special materials for both the bullet and the casing, not to mention the fact that as a rimmed cartridge meant to be fired out of a revolver reliability would be an issue without custom ammunition. Context: With the right bullet type, irl .454 Cassul is capable of bringing down any wild animal in North or South America. Commonly carried by hikers and park rangers in bear country in case they are attacked by a bear. Any kind, black bear, brown bear, grizzly bear, even polar bears.
