The Breath Series marked the beginning of his rise in his past life. He had utilised ingredients that were considered relatively useless and turned them into incredible potions.

Not really. He's seven. If he hadn't lied and told her had dreams, instead of being an adult in a kid's body, then she might have reacted differently.

The repeated clash allowed the Neo-Human bloodline to strengthen and with no replenishment of Angel or Demon bloodlines, they simply disappeared. All but two. The Angel and Demon blood in my parents was very strong. Dormant but strong. I think their bloodlines had become avatistic but they had passed the best times to awaken them and without the right trigger, they could only affect their physical appearance and affinities."

So, they were desperate people, so fixated on a critical goal, they ended up doing horrible and evil things to others. 馃槙 Good thing it's a novel.
But I guess that there were two very crazy men among those researchers. They fused these bloodlines into individuals and forced them to reproduce with humans. Then they killed them before they could turn.聽

Sounds about right. I was only thinking demons and angels, based on the elixir he made, and hadn't considered the elves.

My brother lost part of his eyebrows when lighting a grill a couple of decades ago; luckily, they grew back pretty quickly. It's not like he waited or anything, so one or more of the gas holes must have been blocked or leaking. It's been a good reminder ever since.
They had ice cream for dessert and returned to the living room. The adults drank a little and they resumed their conversation. While Katherine was telling a story about the time Alexi had burned his eyebrows off, Alexi was staring at the two boys, seemingly lost in thought.聽

It's in the same sentence and is alright for the context and comparison. They could have used completely in one or both places instead. If it frequently shows up going forward, then it might be good to suggest alternative words. 馃憤
The resume in front of the bartender looked exactly like that of a complete slacker. If there was something outstanding about it, it was utterly non-existent, but to say it was utterly useless wouldn't be true either. Generally, people in the field wouldn't be able to find any teammates, and slackers wouldn't look for other slackers.
