I really like this mc. The fact that he's not immediately attached to anyone as is the norm is a huge plus for me! Even the typical trope of "family is bad, but actually good now because I forgive everyone" is thrown out the window.Girls are likeable, too! Can't wait for the confrontation with the original protagonist and his fiancée!

No offense, but your argument is pretty idiotic and bringing up some contest award does nothing to improve the validity of your argument. the author is going overboard with the family's self-righteousness. no matter how i see it, i can't help but think of them as whiny and annoying. they allowed basically the whole city to trample on their son and they have the audacity to preach to him about image and respect and whatnot
