I feel like this criticism is a little far fetched. You’re acting like this guy is going to straight up murder him when he’s done nothing to be perceived as harmful yet. A power difference is really all you can think of? You should consider relationships and the power they hold.
His black hair is cut short and neatly kept, making his ruby-red eyes stand out all the more. Save for his eyes and nose, he doesn't look like Mary much. His face is neutral, but there's a curiosity behind those dark eyes. I reach into my pocket and hold onto Riptide for reassurance. I'd be dead a thousand times over before I managed to even raise the blade… but holding the pen is still reassuring.
