This novel is definitely interesting, I would love to see where it goes from here. This novel does have some glaring flaws though. The pace is very fast, it feels like the author has good ideas on what to do but in many places he forgot to write them, which makes the reader feel like they missed something and have to reread a bit to try to understand. The characters aren’t very well developed after a point. The Mc jumps from one thing to another and decides very randomly on what needs to be done. The Mc is said to be incredibly smart, but it goes back and forth between him being obsessive with something that would minority benefit him and him being intelligent and understanding. For example the whole art bit; Seth gets incredibly obsessed with it though it does help him in a few ways, there are many things that he could’ve done better instead. He takes no care for his physical body despite knowing that his brain is simply too amazing for his body and for him to do anything better he has to get his body to be more up to par. Then there is the months that Seth spent on obsessively working on becoming a false chief of a fake town he made of sculptures. He has next to no real reason to do that and nearly dies to do it. meanwhile he gets better at next to nothing for that entire time. And when he does get a chance to practically have his choice of any occupation as a class, instead of choosing something that would be helpful to him in both the short and long run, he chose to be a noble which even till the end barely had any real effect or helped him. The characters are not well fleshed out and aren’t very understandable in many to most situations. The world building is very interesting and I would want to see where it goes. But as mentioned earlier, it feels like the author has some good ideas but he doesn’t always write down what is going on or explain why a character would do something. The writing quality isn’t great either. There are many typos and it definitely feels like the further you read the less this novel has been proofread to clear up the writing. It feels like the author was just trying to get as much done as possible in a time limit without worrying about what was being written. All in all, it’s an interesting story. Despite my several misgivings about it I would still like to see more about it and read where the author takes this.
